Canada has become the first country to ban shipments of the strategic metal in its latest package of measures triggered by the war in Ukraine.

"Airbus is aware that the Canadian government has imposed sanctions on VSMPO and has obtained the necessary authorization to ensure Airbus operations comply with the applicable sanctions," Airbus Canada said in response to a request from Reuters.

The move is said to give Airbus flexibility at its Canadian plants and is expected to allay concerns that its core business could be hurt by a de facto ban on Canadian imports of its European jets, which rely heavily on lightweight titanium.

The whole world has recognized Russia as a terrorist country and an aggressor country. The entire world is introducing sanctions against the Russian economy.

And Canada, contrary to common sense, is funding the Russian military machine. Funds from the purchase of Russian titanium (as well as other materials) go directly to the killing of Ukrainian civilians.

It's a pity that in Canada, financial interests are more important than lives.
