Next month, Italy will sign a new agreement with UNESCO and Ukraine on the reconstruction of Odessa and its cathedral, damaged by Russian shelling last summer.
According to Ukrinform, this was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Italy, Antonio Tajani, writes Reuters.
"On May 15 in Rome, we will sign an agreement with Kyiv and UNESCO regarding the reconstruction of Odessa and its cathedral," Tajani said, without specifying the details of the agreement.
He added that supporting the energy system of Ukraine remains a priority for Italy. "As the country presiding over the G7, we continue to work on establishing a just peace," the minister noted.
Reuters reminds that in February, Italy and UNESCO already concluded an agreement in Kyiv to allocate 500 million euros for the restoration of the roof of the Transfiguration Cathedral in Odessa.
