Lithuania to host exercises with foreign military in summer

Lithuanian lawmakers have adopted a special resolution that allows up to 10,000 military personnel from other countries to take part in the international exercise Baltic Operations 2024 (BALTOPS), which will take place in June.

This was reported by LRT.

Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurinas Kasciunas said that up to 10,000 military and civil servants will take part in BALTOPS 2024, which is scheduled for June 4-21.

“This is the largest exercise we have ever conducted,” he said.

The exercise is aimed at training the armed forces of different countries and strengthening the military response to ensure freedom of navigation and security in the Baltic Sea.

Ships with crews, additional personnel, and naval personnel from the United States, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, France, the United Kingdom, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Belgium, Portugal and Italy are expected to arrive in Lithuania.
