Media claims that ATACMS is also in the new weapons package
The ATACMS long-range missiles are part of a new US military aid package to Ukraine announced on April 24, immediately after the law on additional funding to support Ukraine and other US allies was signed.
This was reported with reference to sources, among others, by AR and Politico.
The outlets do not provide details on the number or range of ATACMS included in the new $1 billion package. But this confirms previous media reports that this type of weapon will be transferred to Ukraine.
US media also cite sources as saying that Ukraine received ATACMS as part of a previous $300 million military aid package announced in March and has already used them against Russian targets in the temporarily occupied Crimea and Zaporizhzhia region at least twice.
