"Protecting and supporting Ukrainian institutions and organizations is crucial for Ukraine to succeed in its fight against Russia, in its recovery, in implementing important reforms, and in fighting corruption," said Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide.

Ukraine has many reputable organizations, particularly in the areas of human rights, democracy, anti-corruption, and humanitarian aid, the government added.

"Norway is committed to supporting the work of civil society organizations in their efforts to strengthen freedom and democracy in Ukraine. At the first stage, 70 million Norwegian kroner will be allocated for this program," the minister added.
