Despite the delays in approving additional funding to help Ukraine, the United States has been sending some military assistance to Kyiv in recent weeks in response to the situation on the battlefield.
This was stated by Assistant Secretary of State for European and Eurasian Affairs James O'Brien at a meeting with Ukrainian journalists on April 22, according to a Yevropeiska Pravda correspondent.
O'Brien explained that a few weeks ago, the United States announced "the provision of an additional package of weapons," but did not specify what kind of weapons it was.
According to the State Department official, this package "helped to respond to some of Russia's capabilities to both fire unimpeded from a long distance and attack in waves along the front."
