Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said this at the 5th conference of the Inter-Parliamentary Jerusalem Platform, which took place in Istanbul, according to an Ukrinform correspondent.

"We have severed our relations with Israel, in particular in the trade dimension. As our foreign minister announced, we are breaking them," Erdogan said.

At the same time, he announced the continuation of a decisive struggle "with the conviction that the defense of Jerusalem means the defense of humanity, the defense of peace and the defense of respect for different faiths."

The Turkish leader accused Israel of genocide against the Palestinians.

"No one can expect us to remain silent about the genocide while our Palestinian brothers resisted alone for 203 days and defended the dignity of all mankind alone," the Turkish president said.
