As noted, Austin “described in detail” to Umerov the current US efforts to provide security assistance, including a $1 billion package of weapons allocated from the US Army's stockpile and a $6 billion order for weapons from manufacturers.

The Ukrainian defense minister, in turn, “provided an update on the dynamics on the battlefield, as well as the impact of Russian air attacks that continue across Ukraine,” the Pentagon spokesman said.
