The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs believes that for the sake of stability not only in the Middle East but also in the whole world, Israel must withdraw its troops from the checkpoint near the city of Rafah in the Gaza Strip.

According to Ukrinform, this is stated in a statement by Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Oncu Keceli regarding the latest developments in Gaza.

"The operation in Rafah will affect not only the region but the entire world. It is imperative that Israel immediately withdraw from the occupied Gaza border crossing of Rafah. The status quo in Rafah and at the border should be quickly restored," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.

At the same time, the ministry welcomed the Palestinian side's acceptance of the proposal to establish a ceasefire in Gaza and the mutual release of hostages and detainees.

"Although there have been such positive developments towards ending the destruction and carnage in Gaza, Israel's escalation of its attacks on Rafah has once again shown that the Netanyahu government is acting in bad faith," the Turkish Foreign Ministry said.
