This was stated by Latvian Prime Minister Eika Silinia at a press conference after a meeting with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and the heads of government of Estonia and Lithuania, RBC-Ukraine reports citing Delfi.

According to Silinia, Russia has threatened the whole of Europe in the past, so nothing much has changed now.

She emphasized that military capabilities will now be strengthened through the development of the defense industry, and it is necessary to ensure that all NATO countries spend at least 2% of their gross domestic product (GDP) on defense.

"Some countries have realized more clearly what the real threats from Russia are. Awareness of these threats gives Ukraine a better chance to win the war with Russia," the Latvian prime minister said.

For her part, Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas also said that Russia's current threats to use nuclear weapons are being spread to deter decisions to be made in support of Ukraine.

She emphasized that Russia has threatened to use nuclear weapons before, but it was only a threat. However, it cannot be said with certainty that nuclear weapons will not be used, as Russia tends to act unpredictably.

And German Chancellor Olaf Scholz noted that "it is important to always say loudly that nuclear weapons cannot be used in this war."
