First African country to confirm participation in Ukraine peace summit

Cape Verde has become the first African country to confirm that it will take part in the Peace Summit in Switzerland.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Telegram.
According to the head of state, he held talks with Cape Verdean Prime Minister Ulysses Correia and Silva.
"I thanked him for his support of the peace formula and his personal principled position on the Russian invasion. Cape Verde was the first African country to confirm its participation in the peace summit," Zelenskyy added.
He noted that he had discussed with the prime minister efforts to attract as many African countries as possible to the peace summit.
Zelenskyy emphasized that Africa's voice is important when it comes to global support for a just peace in Ukraine.
