US to triple production of artillery shells: how long will it take

The United States plans to triple the production of artillery ammunition, which is 100,000 155-mm shells per month by next summer.

This was stated by the Deputy Chief of Staff of the US Army, Lieutenant General James Mingus, according to Defense One.

The US Army predicts a significant increase in the production of 155-mm artillery ammunition, Deputy Chief of Staff of the US Army Lieutenant General James Mingus said yesterday, April 24.

"With the supplemental that just thankfully passed last night, we’ll be at 100,000 rounds by next summer," he said.

According to Mingus, the US defense industry is currently producing 30,000 155-mm artillery rounds.

Thus, the United States will increase the production of 155-mm ammunition to 1.2 million per year.

The United States emphasizes that increasing the production of 155-mm artillery ammunition is critically important for Ukraine.
