Zelenskyy thanks the US for the decision on new aid
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has reacted to the final approval of a $61 billion package of legislation in the United States to further support Ukraine.
According to Yevropeiska Pravda, he said this in his daily video address.
“The six-month journey has been overcome. No matter what anyone says, we are gaining the support we need - we need it to continue to protect lives from Russian attacks... I am grateful to President Biden and Congress, to all Americans who feel that we need to pull the ground from under Putin's feet, to defy him, and that this is the only way to really reduce threats to freedom. Together we can ensure this,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.
He noted that in the previous days, the Ukrainian side had been actively interacting with the United States at all levels on the content of the next aid package to be sent to Ukraine, “to fill the package with exactly the weapons that our soldiers need - from ATACMS and artillery, from anti-tank weapons and missiles to HIMARS to the necessary air defense and equipment.”
The President thanked the Americans who work at defense companies and produce the weapons that help Ukraine defend itself.
