According to preliminary data, in the first quarter of 2024, permits for final arms exports worth about 5.2 billion euros were issued.

Of this amount, €3.85 billion was allocated for military weapons and €1.4 billion for other types of weapons. The main recipient country was Ukraine, for which arms exports worth about 3.8 billion euros were approved.

"Ukraine still accounts for 74% of the total value of the allocation for the first quarter of 2024, and Ukraine remains the main recipient country of German arms exports. ", said Secretary of State Sven Giegold.

The Secretary of State also reiterated Germany's support for Ukraine.

"The figures reflect Germany's continuous and far-reaching support for Ukraine in its self-defense against Russia's aggressive war of aggression, which is contrary to international law," Giegold said.
