Slovak President Peter Pellegrini does not rule out the possibility of an official visit to Ukraine. However, the final decision will be made after the completion of important negotiations on gas transit for Slovakia and an assessment of the situation in the war.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Správy RTVS.
In an interview with the Slovak agency TASR, Pellegrini emphasized that the issue of energy security plays a key role in interstate relations between Ukraine and Slovakia.
He added that he would be waiting for the completion of negotiations on gas transit for Slovakia and other important issues.
According to him, he will also be watching the course of Russia's war against Ukraine in the coming weeks and months.
“Then, next year, we will reassess the possibility of my visit to Ukraine,” the president said.
It is noted that since taking office, Pellegrini has already met twice with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, although none of the meetings took place on the territory of Ukraine.
The two leaders reportedly held bilateral talks to discuss common challenges, including energy cooperation and the security situation in the region.
