Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said that he believes the war in Ukraine will end in 2025.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Magyar Nemzet.
He outlined two possible scenarios: “peace talks” between the parties to the conflict or the ‘destruction’ of one of the warring parties.
“The war will end in 2025. Either it will end in peace talks, or one of the warring parties will be destroyed,” the Hungarian prime minister said.
According to Orban, this year will be a “turning point” not only for Ukraine, but also for the world as a whole, which will be able to restore peace and return to economic growth.
He also added that Hungary is ready for an economic takeoff after the war ends.
“We are ready, and we will take off in 2025. Instead of the policy of war, the policy of peaceful years will return, and we will have great economic success again,” - he said.
The Hungarian prime minister did not avoid criticizing Ukraine's allies' spending on military aid.
He emphasized that America and Europe have spent about 300 billion euros on the war, which, in his opinion, could have been the “basis” for improving living standards, stopping migration and creating a new European defense system.
Orban also drew attention to the terrible consequences of the war: the destruction of Ukraine's infrastructure, demographic losses, and the emigration of millions of Ukrainians. However, he did not comment on Russia's actions and Russian war crimes.
