“Today, I am proud to announce nearly $2.5 billion in security assistance to Ukraine as the Ukrainian people continue to defend their independence and freedom from Russian aggression,” the White House quoted US President Joe Biden as saying.

According to Biden, the Pentagon is currently in the process of delivering hundreds of thousands of artillery shells, thousands of missiles, and hundreds of armored vehicles to strengthen Ukraine on its way to winter.

It is worth noting that the new package includes $1.22 billion in assistance under the USAI program, which means that these weapons and equipment are yet to be manufactured and then delivered to Ukraine. And the $1.24 billion in aid will come from the Pentagon's stockpile.
