Slovakia has announced that it is ready to host the second Ukrainian peace summit. Bratislava offered such an initiative to Russian dictator Vladimir Putin.
This was stated by Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Blanar, RBC-Ukraine reports citing STVR.
“Slovakia has been consistently promoting peaceful solutions, and we support any peaceful initiatives. That is why this year I also participated in the peace summit in Switzerland. All participants agreed that our government is promoting that further peace talks should be held with the participation of all parties, including Russia,” the minister said.
According to him, preparations for the second peace summit will take place at various levels, and Slovakia has allegedly stated several times that it offers its territory as a venue.
“In this context, we perceive the statement of the Russian president, who admitted that part of the peace talks could be held in Slovakia, as a positive signal for the speedy end of this war, bloodshed and destruction,” the foreign minister said.-
Blanar also added that the Slovak government had offered the Ukrainian side to hold a peace summit in Slovakia at a joint intergovernmental meeting in early October in Uzhhorod.
