Keith Kellogg, who was nominated by US President-elect Donald Trump to be special envoy for Ukraine, will visit Kyiv. His trip will take place in early January.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Reuters.
According to the publication's sources, Kellogg is to meet with high-ranking Ukrainian officials in Kyiv. At the same time, the special representative does not plan to fly to Moscow.
Reuters' sources said that Kellogg's team is working on organizing meetings with leaders in Paris and Rome. At the same time, the trip planning is still not complete and the route may change.
Journalists' sources noted that the purpose of such a trip is to collect facts, not to actively negotiate.
As Reuters noted, the trip demonstrates Trump's desire to end the war between Ukraine and Russia as soon as possible.
