Today, the foreign ministers of the European Union (EU) will adopt the 15th package of sanctions against Russia. They will also discuss the situation in Syria and Georgia.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Vice-President of the European Commission Kaja Kallas during a conversation with journalists.
According to Kallas, today the ministers will discuss Syria, Ukraine and Georgia.
“On Ukraine, the foreign ministers will adopt the 15th package of sanctions today, which includes (restrictions - ed.) on the shadow fleet, sanctions against North Korean officials, as well as against Chinese companies that contribute to this war. This sends a clear message - whoever is fueling the continuation of this war has a price to pay,” she said.
In particular, answering journalists' questions about the likelihood of sending European peacekeepers to Ukraine, Kallas explained that peace must be achieved before raising this issue, but the Kremlin is not currently looking for peaceful solutions.
“First there must be peace to send peacekeepers. Russia does not want peace, and this is very obvious. If you look at Lavrov's (Sergey Lavrov, Russian Foreign Minister - ed.) interviews, for example, with Tucker Carlson (American journalist - ed.), they (Russians - ed.) are not backing down from their goals. So we cannot discuss this,” she said.-
