Sweden does not rule out sending Patriot system to Ukraine
Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson has admitted that Stockholm may transfer the Patriot air defense system to Ukraine.
According to Yevropeiska Pravda, he said this before a meeting of EU foreign ministers and defense ministers in Luxembourg.
When asked whether his country would provide the Patriot air defense system, Jonson did not rule it out.
"I do not rule out this possibility, but we are now focused on financial contributions (to provide Ukraine with additional air defense systems)," he said.
According to the minister, Sweden will send other systems that can "relieve some of the pressure" on Ukraine's need for Patriot systems.
He also indicated that after the adoption of the aid package for Ukraine, the United States may increase the supply of air defense systems to Kyiv.
