Sweden may provide Ukraine with RBS 70 air defense systems
Sweden may provide Ukraine with RBS 70 air defense missile systems. This could ease the pressure on the Patriot system. This statement was made by Swedish Defense Minister Paul Johnson.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Channel 24.
He also added that Sweden is considering financing the purchase of air defense systems.
"We are now focusing on a financial contribution, and possibly on the transfer of RBS 70, because it could alleviate some pressure on Patriot systems," Jonson said.
According to the head of the Swedish Defense Ministry, Ukraine needs more artillery shells and new systems to protect the sky.
The RBS 70 is a portable short-range air defense missile system. The device is command-and-control, and the missile is guided by a laser. Its key advantage is its ability to work effectively in conditions of counteraction to thermal traps or electronic warfare.
