US forces in Iraq and Syria come under fire

US troops in Iraq and Syria have come under two separate attacks using missiles and attack drones over the past day, the first time in almost three months.
Reuters reports this with reference to a comment by unnamed US and Iraqi officials.
At least one attack drone was sent to the Ain al-Asad air base in the Iraqi province of Anbar, where the US military is stationed.
Meanwhile, the Rumalin base in northwestern Syria was hit by five missiles fired from northern Iraq on Sunday.
There were no reports of casualties or significant damage as a result of these attacks.
These are the first such attacks on the US military in the Middle East in almost three months.
