The Belgian government has decided to accelerate the supply of its own F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine and to do so by the end of 2024, without waiting for the formation of a new cabinet.
This was announced at a press conference by Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Kroo and Defense Minister Ludivine Dedonder, VRT reports.
De Kroo called the decision to supply F-16s “a big step for Ukraine's defense,” recalling that Belgium was already a member of the fighter jet coalition and provided repairs to the delivered aircraft and training for Ukrainian pilots.
“But now our country is joining a limited group of countries that will actually deliver the aircraft to Ukraine,” he emphasized.
