Jul 1, 2022

Record supplies were noted in June 2022. This was announced on Twitter by Fatih Birol, executive director of the International Energy Agency.

“Russia's recent steep cuts in natural gas flows to the EU mean this is the 1st month in history in which the EU has imported more gas via LNG from the US than via pipeline from Russia The drop in Russian supply calls for efforts to reduce EU demand to prepare for a tough winter,” the statement says.

According to Unian, on June 17, it became known that European countries are using up gas reserves for the winter due to the reduction of supplies from Russia.

On June 20, the Kremlin admitted that anti-Russian sanctions would permanently bury the Nord Stream. On June 22, Fatih Birol, head of the International Energy Agency, advised Europe to urgently prepare for the fact that Russia could completely cut off gas supplies in winter.

On 24 June, it became known that Germany could stop exports of gas to neighboring countries because of the shortage of gas. On 29 June, it was reported that the UK was ready to stop gas supplies to Europe due to the shortage of gas as well.
