Russia has changed its tactics of attacking Ukraine's energy system. To inflict maximum damage, the occupiers have started using cluster munitions for attacks.
This was stated by the Minister of Energy of Ukraine Herman Halushchenko, RBC-Ukraine reports citing a telethon broadcast.
“The tactics of such strikes have changed, the weapons have changed. They now use, as a rule, weapons with cluster munitions to cause maximum damage to the power system. But today the system is balanced,” Halushchenko said.
He emphasized that 2024 was the most difficult year for the Ukrainian power system compared to 2023 and 2022. According to him, the enemy launched 13 massive attacks between March and December, and attacked the energy sector every night throughout the year.
Over the past month, Russia has carried out four massive attacks on the energy system, using all types of weapons. However, as the minister noted, Ukraine is “holding the line” and citizens could see it, particularly during the New Year holidays. The power system is currently operating.
