Russian dictator Vladimir Putin has once again tried to use nuclear rhetoric against the West. In particular, to influence the decision of Western leaders to help Ukraine.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a report by the American Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Thus, analysts write that on October 29, Putin took part in a video conference in Russian military exercises. As part of these exercises, the strategic deterrent forces were launched:
During the event, Putin said that Russia's nuclear triad continues to guarantee Russia's sovereignty and security, helping to maintain the global balance of power.
In addition, the Russian dictator emphasized the need for Russia to have a modern deterrent force in view of “growing geopolitical tensions” and “the emergence of new threats.”
Putin also said that the Strategic Missile Forces are receiving new, unspecified stationary and mobile missile systems that allegedly have increased accuracy, reduced launch times, and increased capabilities.
Russia previously conducted similar nuclear deterrence exercises using the same missile systems in October 2022 and 2023.
