Russia has called the sending of DPRK soldiers to the war against Ukraine “disinformation.” It is allegedly being spread in order to “justify NATO's decision to send its troops” to help Kyiv.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to a statement by Russia's Permanent Representative to the UN Vasily Nebenzi during a meeting of the UN Security Council.
“As for the deployment of DPRK troops to Russia, this is disinformation... The performance that we saw today is an attempt to justify its own decision to send NATO troops to support the 'regime' of the Ukrainian president,” Nebenzia said.
He added that Russia's position on cooperation with the DPRK is “open”.
“The DPRK is our close partner. Our interaction is transparent. This is our sovereign right. I would like to emphasize that Russia's cooperation with the DPRK in the military and other spheres does not violate international law, as such cooperation is not directed against a third country,” Nebenzya said.
According to him, Russia “plans to develop this cooperation and no one can stop it.”
