The United States will defend South Korea with all types of weapons

The United States intends to defend South Korea with all types of weapons. This includes nuclear weapons.
This was stated by U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing a media briefing.
“Today, I assured South Korean Defense Minister Kim Yong-hyun that the United States remains fully committed to the defense of the Republic of Korea, and our commitment to extended deterrence remains ironclad,” Austin said.
At the same time, the Secretary noted that this commitment is backed by the full range of U.S. defense capabilities
“Conventional missile defense, nuclear and advanced non-nuclear capabilities. We have also returned to large-scale exercises with our allies in the Republic of Korea. This enhances our joint readiness and interoperability,” he emphasized.-
As a reminder, the United States and South Korea are allies. In particular, there are American military bases in South Korea.
