The President of Georgia claims that her summons to the prosecutor's office “strangely coincides with the instructions of Dmitry Medvedev.” The day before, the deputy head of Russia's Security Council called for Zurabishvili's “removal from office and arrest.”

“I am appealing to the prosecutor's office, you are accountable to the people, the public demands an immediate investigation from you, not my evidence, and no one expects the prosecutor's office in this situation to start obvious political processes against the president today,” she said.

Zurabishvili emphasized that she had no intention of appearing before the prosecutor's office and urged it to “avoid political score-settling.”

“Moreover, at this moment, our partners are also looking at this - whether the prosecutor's office can be independent and impartial. So let the prosecutor's office start its work, and let the president do his. As president, I will continue my work and I am not going to report to the prosecutor's office,” she added.
