Iran is preparing for a possible Israeli strike in response to Tehran's massive missile attack on October 1. That is why Iran has asked Russia to help with satellite reconnaissance.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to The New York Times.

According to the publication, Iran expects possible retaliatory strikes from Israel. However, many Iranians have expressed concern about a possible war with Israel.

In particular, they stated that they did not want or support a war with Israel or the United States. They said that their lives are already a struggle due to a terrible economy, U.S. sanctions, corruption, and oppression. A war could exacerbate these difficulties and plunge the country into even greater chaos.

“According to two Iranian officials familiar with the war planning and not authorized to speak publicly, Iran asked Russia for satellite intelligence cooperation before the Israeli strike,” the newspaper writes.

At the same time, the NYT does not provide any other details. It is also unknown whether Russia has responded to this request.
