Fico dreams of “normal relations with Russia” after the war in Ukraine

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico would like to restore normal relations with Russia after the end of the full-scale war in Ukraine.
He said this in a conversation with journalists on Thursday, October 3, Yevropeiska Pravda reports citing RTVS.
According to Fico, if the war in Ukraine “ends during the mandate of this government,” that is, by 2027, “I will do everything to restore economic and normal relations with the Russian Federation.”
“The European Union needs the Russian Federation, the Russian Federation needs the European Union. We will take great care of friendly relations with Ukraine,” the Slovak prime minister said.
He also reiterated that the conflict in Ukraine has no military solution, and many politicians are already allegedly talking about the need for compromises on Ukraine, citing the president of the neighboring Czech Republic, Petr Pavel, as an example.
