Hearings on the candidates for the new European Commission will be held in November. On the eve of the date, the majority of the heads of the EC committees approved it.
According to RBC-Ukraine, this was announced by the President of the European Parliament Roberta Mecola on Twitter.
According to her, hearings on the candidates for European Commissioners will be held from November 4 to 12.
“Having received a mandate from European citizens, MEPs will ask questions, evaluate, scrutinize and vote,” Mecola wrote.
Due to the timing of the hearings, the new European Commission is not likely to start working until early December. And if the European Parliament rejects a number of commissioner candidates, this deadline will be pushed back to January.
