Norwegian parliamentary parties have agreed to allocate NOK 35 billion ($3.2 billion) to help Ukraine in 2025. This amount will be included in the budget.
This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Vart Land.
Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre held a meeting with leaders of parliamentary parties to discuss funding for assistance to Ukraine in 2025.
This meeting was decided after the draft state budget of Norway included only 15 billion kroner (about $1.3 billion) to help Ukraine in 2025. This caused dissatisfaction among the opposition parties, who demanded 45 billion kroner (over $4 billion) in response.
“This is an important signal for Ukraine, which is going through difficult times, and an important signal for those who are attacking,” the head of the Norwegian government said after meeting with leaders of parliamentary parties.
He clarified that during the meeting, he tried to find a solution that would be supported by all parties in parliament. Party leaders supported the allocation of $3.2 billion.
It should be noted that Norway has allocated NOK 27 billion ($2.44 billion) to help Ukraine in 2024.
