President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a phone conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte. They discussed strengthening Ukraine's air defense.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Office of the President of Ukraine.
Zelensky said that Ukraine expects a decisive and timely response from the Alliance to Russia's expansion of the war. In particular, on December 3 and 4, a meeting of the NATO-Ukraine Council at the level of foreign ministers will take place in Brussels.
“Ukraine is counting on support in the transfer of air defense systems capable of intercepting missiles of this type. Ukraine has handed over the list of air defense systems in service with the Alliance to its partners,” Zelenskyy said.
The President emphasized that it is important for Ukraine to receive an invitation to NATO and continue defense cooperation with the Alliance. A separate focus of the conversation was the supply of long-range vehicles and the critical need to transfer weapons from the announced aid packages.
