Ukraine will be able to join the European Union during the work of the new European Commission. Its mandate will last for five years.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy on Twitter.
The Head of State welcomed the approval by the European Parliament of the new composition of the European Commission headed by President Ursula von der Leyen.
Zelenskyy wished the new European Commission success in strengthening a united Europe and enhancing the EU's role as a global leader. The President hopes to continue cooperation on key issues related to Ukraine's accession to the EU.
In addition, Zelenskyy expressed confidence that Ukraine will be able to join the EU within five years during the work of the new European Commission.
“We are confident that during the work of this European Commission, Ukraine will achieve its strategic goal of membership in the European Union,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.
