On the night of September 30-October 1, Israeli troops launched ground raids in southern Lebanon as part of an operation against Hezbollah forces. It is called “Northern Arrows”.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF).
The Israeli military said in a statement last night that IDF forces had launched “limited, localized and targeted raids” against Hezbollah terrorist targets in the border area in southern Lebanon.
The IDF also noted that such an operation was launched in accordance with the decision of the authorities “several hours ago.”
The Israeli Defense Forces explained that these are “limited, localized and targeted ground raids based on accurate intelligence against Hezbollah terrorist facilities and infrastructure in southern Lebanon.”
“These targets are located in villages near the border and pose a direct threat to Israeli communities in northern Israel,” the IDF said.
The Israeli side also emphasizes that “the IDF is acting in accordance with the methodological plan developed by the General Staff and the Northern Command, for which IDF soldiers have been training and preparing in recent months.”
In addition, the Israeli ground forces are supported by aviation and artillery, which are striking at military targets in the area.
“These operations were approved and carried out in accordance with the decision of the political echelon. Operation Northern Arrows will continue in accordance with the assessment of the situation and in parallel with the fighting in Gaza and elsewhere,” the IDF said.-
We would like to add that, as IDF spokesman Avihai Adraeus said in his Telegram, the Israel Defense Forces “is launching a special military operation in southern Lebanon.”
