The IDF also noted that such an operation was launched in accordance with the decision of the authorities “several hours ago.”

The Israeli Defense Forces explained that these are “limited, localized and targeted ground raids based on accurate intelligence against Hezbollah terrorist facilities and infrastructure in southern Lebanon.”

“These targets are located in villages near the border and pose a direct threat to Israeli communities in northern Israel,” the IDF said.

The Israeli side also emphasizes that “the IDF is acting in accordance with the methodological plan developed by the General Staff and the Northern Command, for which IDF soldiers have been training and preparing in recent months.”

In addition, the Israeli ground forces are supported by aviation and artillery, which are striking at military targets in the area.

“These operations were approved and carried out in accordance with the decision of the political echelon. Operation Northern Arrows will continue in accordance with the assessment of the situation and in parallel with the fighting in Gaza and elsewhere,” the IDF said.
