10 ships have left Black Sea ports through the humanitarian corridor

Oct 4, 2023

Despite Russia's disruption of the "grain deal" and repeated threats to attack ships heading to the Ukrainian coast, 10 ships have already used the Ukrainian humanitarian corridor in the Black Sea. This was reported by the Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk.

He also added that three ships are currently sailing out of Ukrainian ports.

"In total, we have 12 ships heading west through the new corridor, and 10 ships heading out. And we need to add these three that are currently leaving. This is the situation," he said.

He characterized the situation in the Black and Azov Seas as difficult, but under control.

Bloomberg wrote that the fact that the ships are leaving shows that Ukraine's "bold bet" on organizing its own trade route in the Black Sea after the disruption of the grain corridor agreed with Russia has paid off. In addition, the article notes that global insurance companies have begun to cover insurance risks again.
