Israeli intelligence chief in Qatar negotiates ceasefire with Hamas
In Qatar, an Israeli delegation headed by Mossad chief David Barney has concluded negotiations on a ceasefire agreement with Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to Bloomberg.
The agency, citing a source familiar with the negotiations, writes that the outcome is currently unknown, but the process will continue.
According to Bloomberg, Barney was scheduled to meet with Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.
The intelligence chief made the trip after Israel received a new proposal from Hamas that could lead to the release of some hostages held in Gaza and a pause in the war.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's cabinet discussed the latest Hamas offer on Thursday. He then held a 30-minute conversation with US President Joe Biden.
