Orban's visit to Moscow is an insult to the Ukrainian people

Jul 5, 2024

Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has called Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban's trip to Moscow an insult to the Ukrainian people.

He wrote about this on Twitter.

According to the Swedish prime minister, it is "irresponsible and disloyal" of Orban to use Hungary's EU presidency to visit Kremlin ruler Vladimir Putin.

"This sends the wrong signal to the outside world and is an insult to the Ukrainian people who are fighting for their freedom," Kristersson emphasized.

He added that Orban "stands alone in this matter".

"He does not speak for the European Union and he does not speak for other EU heads of state and government," the Swedish prime minister added.
