This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Romanian Ministry of Defense's Facebook page.

This happened after Russian drones were spotted in the morning heading towards the territory of Ukraine, located near the Romanian border.

The ministry noted that the Air Police Service was alerted. Also, two F-16 aircraft of the Romanian Air Force from the 86th Borca Air Base took off to monitor the air situation.

"Following an alert transmitted by the authorities, at about 7:30 a.m., the Ministry of National Defense issued an order to conduct search operations in the area between the settlements of Vulturul, Mahmudia and Maliuc in case of the presence of objects that fell on the territory of the country," the statement said.

However, the ministry noted that the teams sent to the site did not find anything suspicious.

"The searches will continue throughout the day," the Romanian defense ministry added.
