Yemeni Houthis attack an oil tanker in the Red Sea

The Yemeni Houthi group fired missiles at an oil tanker of the Trafigura Group in the Red Sea. A fire broke out on board the vessel.

RBC-Ukraine reported this regarding Bloomberg.

The rebels fired on the Marlin Luanda, which was carrying a shipment of petroleum products for the production of gasoline and plastics. The tanker is flying the flag of the Marshall Islands.

Trafigura's press service noted that the attack caused a fire in one of the cargo compartments on the starboard side.

"We remain in contact with the ship and are closely monitoring the situation. Warships are in the region to assist," the statement said.

Maritime intelligence company Ambrey Analytics reported that the attack took place about 55 miles southeast of the Yemeni city of Aden.
