Zelensky appeals to the West: we need strength to avoid a major war

Oct 21, 2024

The newly formed military alliance of Russia and the DPRK is trying to “feel out” the Western world's reaction to provocations. In order to avoid war, we need strength.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine, citing a statement by the head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Andriy Yermak.

“Russia's war in Europe against Ukraine and the involvement of the DPRK army, Iran's support for the war in the Middle East, and the DPRK's escalation on the Korean Peninsula. The desire of the new military alliance of autocracies to unbalance democratic spheres of influence is currently a rehearsal and a possible test of the Western world's reaction,” Yermak said.

He explained that if these provocations do not receive a tough response, the aggressor countries will begin to prepare for further imposition of their influence in Europe, which will be impossible without war.

“There is something for everyone to think about. “Appeasement” of Russia and autocracies does not work. We need strength to avoid a big war,” he summarized.

It should be noted that there are several conflicts of varying intensity and nature taking place in the world today. The most significant of them are Russia's war against Ukraine and the conflict in Israel. The situation around Taiwan is also no less tense, as is the marked deterioration of relations between North and South Korea.
