IAEA to support Ukraine in completion of Khmelnytsky NPP units

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) promises support and assistance to Ukraine in the implementation of the project to complete two power units No. 3 and No. 4 of the Khmelnytsky NPP.

This was stated by IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi, RBC-Ukraine reports citing the press service of Energoatom.

“I promise that we will be there to help Ukraine increase the capacity of the Khmelnytsky NPP by building new power units,” the IAEA Director General said.

According to him, the world is reorienting to nuclear power in order to switch to green energy and improve energy security, and Ukraine will not be left behind.

“We will be there for the recovery. Ukraine will once again have one of the largest nuclear power programs in Europe,” Rafael Grossi emphasized.

As reported, the project to complete the Khmelnytskyi NPP units was previously undermined by the US and the EU.

According to the latest opinion polls, 77% of Ukrainians approve of the completion of state-owned nuclear power plants.
