Switzerland plans to allocate nearly $6 billion for Ukraine's recovery

Switzerland wants to allocate 5 billion francs (about $5.8 billion) to help Ukraine. The money is planned to be used for Ukrainian recovery projects.

This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal on Telegram.

According to Shmyhal, he met with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis.

“In Lugano, Switzerland, we laid the foundation for Ukraine's post-war recovery for the first time. Switzerland actively supports Ukrainian reconstruction projects and intends to provide 5 billion francs until 2036,” the Ukrainian Prime Minister said.

He also thanked Switzerland for appointing a special representative for Ukraine's recovery. Kyiv is looking forward to fruitful cooperation.

Shmyhal reminded Cassis of the regional approach to recovery and patronage of the regions.

“We want Swiss companies and Switzerland to take an active part in this. An important step here will be the visit of a delegation of Swiss companies to Ukraine next year, which will open up new opportunities for cooperation and investment,” the head of the Ukrainian government added.

Another topic of the talks was President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's victory plan. The Prime Minister thanked the Swiss Foreign Minister for supporting the peace formula, sincere solidarity and humanitarian aid.
