Ukraine to receive almost fifty Abrams tanks from Australia
Australia will provide 49 Abrams tanks to Ukraine. They will be transferred as part of a new military support package worth $245 million.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to ABC.
According to the publication, Australia will transfer Abrams tanks to Ukraine, which will soon be decommissioned by the country's army. The transfer of tanks is to be officially announced by Australian Defense Minister Pat Conroy during a meeting of NATO defense ministers in Brussels.
It is also worth noting that Australia has recently received the first of 75 new M1A2 tanks, which will gradually replace the old M1A1 models. The transfer of the tanks required authorization from the United States in accordance with international arms trade regulations.
