Danish PM on Zelenskyy's victory plan: there are very good ideas

There are good ideas in President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's victory plan. But the key is NATO membership.

This was stated by Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, RBC-Ukraine reports citing DR.

“This war should never have started, so none of us wants anything more than peace. I think there are very, very good ideas in the presented victory plan. And I agree with Zelensky that the centerpiece of this plan is NATO membership. It is the most important life insurance you can give a country,” Frederiksen said.

But according to her, not all NATO countries support Ukraine's desire to be invited to join NATO. In particular, the United States still opposes such an initiative.

“There are those who are still very skeptical about Ukraine's membership in NATO. We actively support this from the Danish side. I will also say this today,” she said before the EU summit.

The Danish Prime Minister emphasized that she agrees with the need to end the war between Ukraine and Russia as soon as possible, but it must be done in a “democratic and fair way.”

“Unfortunately, I don't see any signs that Russia is going to recognize any democracy... Now it is an enemy for all of us, and the plan of victory should reflect how dangerous Russia is,” Frederiksen added.

Therefore, in her opinion, now Denmark and other NATO countries should be ready to continue spending much more money on their defense. This is necessary for people to live in peace and security.
