Biden does not retract his words about "dictator Xi"
US President Joe Biden has refused to take back his words about Chinese President Xi Jinping, whom he previously called a "dictator."
Biden said this at a press conference at the White House on Thursday after meeting with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, a Yevropeiska Pravda correspondent reports.
The American president said that he would not shy away from saying what he considers to be the facts about our relationship with China, and this is not something that I will radically change.
"I believe - and I've said this before - that the hysteria about our relationship with China is fading and passing. There was an incident that led to some misunderstanding. But Secretary Blinken had a great visit to China," he added.
Biden also expressed hope that at some point in the future he "will meet with Xi Jinping himself" and does not believe that his words about the Chinese leader "had any real consequences.
