Borrell urges EU to lift restrictions on Ukraine's strikes deep into Russia

Ukraine should be able to use long-range weapons against Russian territory. The countries of the European Union (EU) should support this.

This is reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the head of the EU foreign policy department, Josep Borrell, quoted by The Guardian.

Before a meeting with EU foreign ministers in Brussels, Borrell expressed hope that the bloc members would eventually agree to allow Ukraine to use weapons to strike inside Russia.

“I repeat again and again that Ukraine must be able to use the weapons we have provided it with to not only stop the arrows but also to hit the shooters,” Borrell said.

According to him, he is convinced that EU members will discuss this issue again.

“I hope that member states will come to an agreement on this,” he added.
