The U.S. State Department has preliminarily approved the sale of related equipment for the maintenance of F-16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian government. The estimated cost of the package is $266.4 million.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the website of the Security Cooperation Agency of the US Department of Defense.
The agency issued the necessary certificate and notified the US Congress.
It is noted that official Kyiv has asked the United States to purchase and provide
- Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS);
- simple key loaders (SKL) AN/PYQ-10;
- minor modifications to the fighters and their technical support;
- Engine Component Improvement Program (CIP);
- spare and repair parts, consumables and accessories;
- repair and return support;
- weapons software, weapons software support equipment, and classified and unclassified software and delivery support;
- classified and unclassified publications and documentation;
- personnel training and training equipment;
- engineering and technical services to the U.S. government;
- repair and maintenance services for F-16, F-17, F-18, F-20 aircraft;
- engineering, technical and logistics services of the U.S. government and contractors, as well as other related logistics and program support elements.
The estimated total value of all the declared equipment is $266.4 million.
